The Dark Knight: The Best ComicBook Film Ever Made
June 26, 2021
“Because he’s the hero Gotham deserves, but not the one it needs right now. So we’ll hunt him. Because he can take it. Because he’s not our hero. He’s a silent guardian, a watchful protector. A dark knight.”
I have always liked the Batman films, and the Joker is my favorite DC villain. Combine this with the fact that Christopher Nolan is one of my favorite director’s and Hans Zimmer is one of my favorite composers, and you will understand why The Dark Knight was a dream come true.
The familiarity of Gotham
The cinematography of The Dark Knight, especially with the IMAX scenes, look aesthetically stunning. The Gotham flyover’s and the characteristic way Batman is framed in the shots is beautifully done. The modern, yet atmospheric and dark looking Gotham City, makes this feel like a realistic Batman film but in a refreshing way.
Hans Zimmer enhanced the cinematography with his dark and epic sounding score. A score that really fits the atmosphere of Gotham City and the Batman character.
Heath Ledger was no joke
The acting in The Dark Knight is the best out of the trilogy. Heath Ledger depicted the Joker like no one else. His acting is, arguably, one of the best performances in film history. Not only the acting, but also the costume design, contributed to this great depiction of the Joker.
This modern-day Batman is (not by far) my favorite Batman out of all of them. His suit is definitely one of the most detailed and beautiful looking suits out of all of them. Combine this with Christian Bale’s charisma, the modern gadgets and the Tumbler, and you will have an interesting Vigilante that you empathize with.
As a Batman, Christopher Nolan and Hans Zimmer fan, it is no surprise that The Dark Knight Trilogy are my favorite ComicBook films. Even if you’re not a ComicBook fan, The Dark Knight remains one of the best films ever made.
